Stephen Charlton Joins SBL Commission
Basketball WA is pleased to announce the induction of Stephen Charlton into the SBL Commission as a BWA appointed member.
Stephen brings with him a wealth of experience having been involved in the SBL as a player and coach since 1989.
Stephen's basketball resume includes;
- Played in 300+ games in the SBL.
- Two time Championship winning coach with the Goldfields Giants (2006 & 2007).
- Championship winning coach with the Cockburn Cougars (2012).
- Named SBL coach of the year in 2006.
- Current head coach of the Western Stars in the WNWBL
Stephen Charlton better known around the league as 'Charlie' was excited when accepting the position on the SBL Board of Commissioners.
"Happy to be a part of the Commission to help both the league and sport move forward and continue to grow and improve.
In the 30+ years I've been involved in the league as a player, club committee member and most recently as a coach I hope that I have learned a few things.
Hopefully I can help to not only help with here and now issues of the day, but to provide some vision into what and where the league can be in the future".
Stephen joins current SBL Commissioners, Andy Stewart (Chief Commissioner), Fleur McIntyre, Christian Rice and Adam Bowler (General Manager).
