Women's SBL Player of the Week
THE week thirteen Women’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Candace Williams Lapa Brazilian BBQ Restaurant Cockburn Cougars.
Candace Williams burst onto the SBL seen this year and is being fancied as an MVP candidate after a brilliant first half of the season.
Williams showcased her talent on Friday night in front of her home crowd at Wally Hagan Stadium with a game high 22 points and a massive 23 rebounds to go with 3 assists and 5 steals as the Cougars defeated the East Perth Eagles 80 to 47.
The Cougars travelled up the hill on Saturday night for the second phase of their double header to take on the Kalamunda Eastern Suns.
Williams was again a dominant force scoring a game high 34 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 blocks as the Cougars made it two from two for the weekend, winning 88 -82.
The Cougars currently sit in seventh position with a record for 7 wins and 7 losses with Williams leading the league in both scoring and rebounding this year with a massive 29.5 points and 16.5 rebounds per game and is the key to the Cougars playoff chances this year.
