THE week eleven Men’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Cody Ellis of the Bethanie Stirling Senators.

 

On the back of some stand out performances by Jayden Coburn, Adrian Majstrovich and Cody Ellis, the Senators dominated their home floor at Warwick Stadium on Saturday night as they defeated the South West Slammers 130 to 88.

 

Ellis was the key for the home side with 28 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks.

 

Cody found his range from deep to go 5 of 8 from beyond the arc while shooting at over 70% from the field on the night.

 

The Senators are staying in touch with the top sides, currently holding a record of 10 & 6 to share fourth position with Rockingham in the standings.

 

Following a full season in the NBL with the Illawarra Hawks, Cody Ellis has had a solid first half of the SBL season averaging 23.9 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.

THE week eleven Women’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Amber Land of the Bethanie Stirling Senators.

Stirling Senators centre Amber Land was a key factor in their crucial home court win 89 to 85 over the South West Slammers on the weekend.

 

Land was a dominant force for the home side scoring a game high 25 points while pulling down 17 rebounds to go along with 5 assists, 3 steals and a block.

 

Land’s ability to convert at the foul line was crucial knocking down 9 of 12 from the line.

 

The Senators are currently sit in tenth position in the standings with Amber Land averaging 14.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game.

 

Amber was voted as the starting centre of the North All-Stars this year who go up against the South team on June 6 at the Bendat Basketball Centre with all ticket sales to Lifeline WA.
