Cougars Sign Marcus Goode From Seattle

The Cockburn Cougars MSBL squad are pleased to announce the signing of import Marcus Goode.

 

Marcus stands 6ft 11in and is a current member of the Seattle Mountaineers in the ABA. Marcus was also drafted by the Erie Bay Hawks in the NBA D-League in 2014.

 

Marcus currently leads the team in scoring (24ppg), rebounding (12.2 rpg) and blocks (3.6 bpg) per game. He is averaging 62% from the field, 49% from 3pt and 79% from FT’s. The Mountaineers currently hold a record of 22 wins and 3 losses in their league.

 

Some previous stat lines for Marcus this season show his dominance inside the paint:

 

Dec 12 vs South Puget Sound College – 25 points, 16 rebounds, 5 blocks

Dec 11 vs Lane College – 26 points, 18 rebounds, 6 blocks

Dec 6 vs Columbia Bible College – 21 points, 12 rebounds, 5 blocks

Nov 21 vs Yakima Valley College – 42 points, 16 rebounds, 5 blocks

Nov 18 vs Centralia College – 34 points, 30 rebounds

Nov 14 vs Clark College – 27 points, 10 rebounds, 5 blocks

Nov 11 vs Skagit Valley College – 33 points, 12 rebounds

 

MSBL head coach Matt Parsons is looking forward to Marcus joining the team.

 

“Marcus will be a great addition to the program for the 2016 season. He comes with plenty of accolades and a lot of upside to his game, and will fit into the culture and values we have created at Cockburn” Parsons says.

 

A former two-time SIAC Conference Player of the Year, Goode is excited about his journey to Cockburn.

 

“I’m really looking forward to coming to Perth and meeting the people of Cockburn,” he said.

 

“This is a great opportunity for me and I can’t wait to get down there, this will be a fantastic adventure.”
