THE Willetton Tigers won both its games in Week 4 of the women's SBL over the weekend after a slow start to the 2014 season and it coincided with the return of Melissa Marsh on Saturday night.

The Week 4 women's action began with two games on Friday night seeing the Perry Lakes Hawks beat the Cockburn Cougars 78-66 at the WA Basketball Centre and the Willetton Tigers getting off the mark for 2014 with a 73-47 victory over the Perth Redbacks at Belmont Oasis.

There were then three women's matches on Saturday night featuring the Stirling Senators beating the Kalamunda Eastern Suns 75-55 at Warwick Leisure Centre, the Mandurah Magic defeating the Schweigen East Perth Eagles 77-70 at Morley Sport and Recreation Centre and the Willetton Tigers downing the Perry Lakes Hawks 67-45 at Willetton Basketball Stadium.

The round then concluded with two matches on Sunday with the Joondalup Wolves hammering the Perth Redbacks 100-36 at Joondalup Basketball Stadium and the Lakeside Lightning defeating the Schweigen East Perth Eagles 96-67 at Lakeside Recreation Centre.

The round's results mean that there remains two unbeaten teams in the women's SBL competition with the Rockingham Flames remaining on top after the bye on a 4-0 record while the Lakeside Lightning are on 3-0.

The Cockburn Cougars are in third position on 3-1 followed by the Joondalup Wolves (2-1), Stirling Senators (2-1), Mandurah Magic (3-2), Perry Lakes Hawks (2-2) and Collie Crane Hire South West Slammers (1-1).

Just outside the top-eight are the Willetton Tigers on 2-3 followed by the Kalamunda Eastern Suns (1-3), East Perth Eagles (1-4) and the winless Perth Redbacks (0-6).

The outstanding individual performances began on Friday night with Rosie Tobin finishing with 17 points, nine rebounds and three assists for Perry Lakes with Kate Anthony adding 17 points, three boards and three assists.

Anna Kovats also added 12 points, five rebounds and five assists with Sarah Donovan contributing 12 points and Jessie Clayton 11 to go with six assists.

Emma Pass top-scored for the Cougars with 23 points and seven rebounds while Sam Richards finished with 22 points and five assists.

Ebony Antonio top-scored for Willetton in the win over Perth with 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Jess Jakens had 13 points and five rebounds for the Redbacks with Alix Hayward also adding 13 points and five boards.

Then on Saturday night, Joriah Smith led the way for the Magic with 22 points with Casey Mihovilovich adding 19 points, seven rebounds, six assists and four steals.

Stephanie Jones had an outstanding night for the Eagles finishing with 30 points and 15 rebounds.

Tegan Walker led the way for the Senators in their win over the Suns finishing with 17 points and nine rebounds on the back of shooting 7-of-12 from the field.

Lyndal Gardner added 15 points, Taylor Wild 11 (seven assists, five rebounds) and Hannah Throns 10 (four boards, three assists).

Jennie Rintala top-scored for Kalamunda with 16 points and eight rebounds with Adrienne Jones adding 15 points, six rebounds and four assists.

Antonia Edmondson had a terrific game for Willetton in the win over Perry Lakes with 23 points, six rebounds and six assists. Melissa Marsh made her first appearance of the season and first since retiring from the WNBL, and had 15 points, six assists and five rebounds as well for the Tigers.

Anna Kovats was the only Perry Lakes player to score in double-figures finishing with 13 points and six rebounds.

And finally on Sunday, Chelsea Burns top-scored for the Wolves with 21 points, seven steals, six rebounds, four blocked shots and two assists on the back of 9-of-12 shooting.

Nikita-Lee Martin also added 17 points, nine boards, five steals and five assists while Tarryn MacPherson scored 14 points, Megan Lee 11 and Amanda Frontino 11.

Kari Pickens led the way for the Lightning with 23 points, 20 rebounds and four assists with Krystal Stoneking adding 19 points, Chanah Crugnale 15 and Emily Fielding 12.

Stephanie Jones was again the standout for East Perth with 27 points and eight rebounds with Jodee Santay also scoring 10 points.
