Coaches look ahead to Week 4 of the SBL

SOME SBL men's and women's coaches shared their thoughts about their upcoming matches this weekend in Week 4 of the 2014 season.

WOMEN'S
JOONDALUP WOLVES
Coach – Vlad Alava

We play the Redbacks on Sunday and I know they've had some big player losses coming into this year and not too many gains. They had some issues with their second import who is no longer there and their first import is still taking some time to adjust. Hopefully they don’t adjust by this Sunday though.

MEN'S
VORIAN AGENCY EAST PERTH EAGLES
Coach – Adam Forde

We have been without Tommy Jervis so far and also Jamie Barnett as our back up big who we signed to replace Mike Jones, and we will now miss Drew Williamson for the next five games and Nikola Donlagic has got a shoulder complaint. I would rather manage the injuries at the start of the year and not at the end like we did last year.

We now take on Mandurah this weekend and there will be opportunities for Brendan Dinardo and Brighton Pass who have all played in the state team so they have the credentials in terms of the junior ranks. It's just a matter of if they can step into the SBL ranks and we have a double-header this weekend. We have Mandurah and then Lakeside on Sunday so there will be more than enough games for them that's for sure.

ROCKINGHAM FLAMES
Coach – Mark Utley

Next Sunday we play a dangerous team in the Giants. Although they haven't won yet they are improving every game and we know they can get hot. Imports Blue and Hannon are starting to settle into the league and we will focus a bit of attention on how we play them this week.

Being our third Sunday in a row we are starting to get used to them. We also hope the Cougars wear the Giants out before our game.

COLLIE CRANE HIRE SOUTH WEST SLAMMERS
Coach – Ty Harrelson

We have to play better on the road as we face Geraldton this week, a team that we have a lot of respect for. They have experience, are well coached and looked strong last weekend.
