"Kickz101 Perth" SBL Players of the Week

The week three “Kickz101 Perth” Men’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Odartey Blankson of the Sun City Plumbing Geraldton Buccaneers.

The Geraldton Buccaneers travelled to Perth on the weekend with a tough double header in front of them.

On Saturday night, Geraldton took on the East Perth Eagles at Morley Sport and Recreation Centre. The Buccs came away with a resounding twenty point victory on the back of Blankson’s outstanding game which included 42 points and 14 rebounds.

On Sunday at the WA Basketball Centre, the Buccaneers defeated the Perry Lakes Hawks 113 to 97 with Blankson again putting in a dominating performance for the visiting side, recording 34 points, 14 rebounds and 2 assists.

The week three “Kickz101 Perth” Women’s SBL Player of the Week has been awarded to Samantha Whitcomb of the Rockingham Flames.

The Flames faced one of the toughest challenges in the WSBL on Sunday, taking on 2013 champions the Joondalup Wolves at their home venue the Joondalup Basketball Stadium.

Flames import and 2013 WSBL MVP, Samantha Whitcomb put in an outstanding shooting performance to record 7 of 10 three pointers and finished with 28 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 4 steals to lead her team to victory over the Wolves 68 to 60.
